The above verse is one that hits home for the Williams family. Brad and Julie Williams first decided to open a donor-advised fund to teach their children about generosity. When the pair were exploring potential DAF options, Brad was pleased to find that LegacyWay has a user-friendly online platform that made giving easy and even changed the way they approach generosity as a family.
Now, every year on the first day of December, the Williamses meets to discuss which charitable organization in their community to support. Once they decide, the children write the organization’s name on a slip of paper and place it inside a clear ornament that hangs on their Christmas tree. Amid colorful lights and wrapping paper, the family has no trouble seeing that helping someone else is a gift as well.
“Our children really look forward to adding a new ornament to our Christmas Giving Tree,” Julie said.
